Photography Workshops
Tom Tworek and Gold Coast Galleries offers a number of workshops each year. The focus is on utilization of seasonal light in outdoor landscape and nature photography. These workshops cover everything from shooting to capture just the right light, to your final output on a digital printer. Both film and digital will be accepted. We will also have specialty lenses available for student use during the shoot. Subjects covered include RAW image capture, color management, computer setup, workflow and advanced Photoshop technique. Finally, how to output your images utilizing profiles and color management to get the best print possible.

Wildlife Photography Workshop
Dates: January 26th, 27th and the 28th, 2007
Price: $600.00 (includes lodging.) Registration Limit is 10 Students
Shoot Location: San Simeon.
Every year in the late fall and early winter Elephant Seals migrate ashore on the California Coast to give birth to their pups. The photo opportunity provided by this behavior is extraordinary. Tom has been photographing and studying the behavior of elephant seals for 6 years with marine biologists and other photographers. The challenge to the students will be learning the behavior of the elephant seals in order to achieve a discriptive image of what they are viewing. Learning the behavior will put them at the right place at the right time to see fighting male elephant seals and females giving birth and weening new pups. The knowledge gained from this workshop can be applied to all wildlife photography and is a must for any nature photographer.
The Death Valley Fine Art Photography Workshop
Date: April 8th thru the 14th, 2007
Price: $1500.00 (includes Lodging.) Registration Limit is 10 Students
Shoot Location: Death Valley.
Tom has
been all through the back country of Death Valley and has picked out 9
prime
locations to shoot at best time of day for the most spectacular color. Learn
how to use
the golden light of morning and evening to enhance your photography. Learn
how to
pick the perfect lens for your photographs. We will explore the use of distortive
rectalinear and fisheye lenses to add intrest to your images. We will also
learn
the art of workflow in field. Tom will show you what the pros do to get the
best shot. This workshop is held around the time of the Death Valley wildflower
bloom.

The Owens Valley-Death Valley Photography Workshop
Dates: October 7th thru the 14th 2007.
Price: $1600.00 (includes lodging.) Registration Limit is 10 Students
Locations:Mono Lake, Bodie, Alabama Hills, Bristlecone Pines, Eureka Dunes, Titus Canyon, the Racetrack (moving rocks) Mesquite Flats, Zibenski Point, Badwater, Lost Burro Mine, Ubehebe Mine, Ubehebe Crater, Leadfield Mine and Crater Mine. More details plus itenerary will be announced in August. The Workshop will be limited to 10 students. Registraion is now underway. First come first serve. Each student will have his or her own room. An optional day will be availble for an extra night on the 13th.
