The Death Valley Fine Art Workshop
April 8th thru the 14th

Price is $1500.00 and includes 6 nights lodging

Equipment
Each student should have along with their camera equipment, a tripod, enough film for five days of shooting or something to down load digital files into, wide angle lens, a macro and a telephoto.. It is also essential to have something to clean lenses with and also for digital users something to clean your sensors with. We will be in dusty enviornments so some sort of senser cleaning tools will be a neccesity. The weather will be in the high 90's and the 60's and 70's in the early morning so bring appropriate clothing. Although we will not be doing any extreme hiking, some walking of 1 or 2 miles at a time could happen so bring something to carry water in, a good pair of hiking shoes, a field notebook and pen or pencil. Be prepared to get up early in the morning and leave before first light. Bringing an alarm clock would be a good idea.

Daily Schedule
Getting up early to be on location at first light will be a daily chore. Most of our photography will take place before 10:00am and after 4:00pm. During the day and in the evenings we will be holding either a learning workshop or a field trip. There will also be a 3 hour break during the day to take care of lunch, showers, naps, etc. After dinner each night there will be a shooters workshop to discuss the days shooting and an orientation for the next days shoot. We will be at two prime locations each day one in the morning and one in the evening. If we take an afternoon field trip, be prepared to shoot (photograph) animals, abandoned mines, flora etc. Special note: locations within Death Valley will be, sometimes 100 miles apart. Make sure your vehicle is gassed up every day. A truck or SUV with four wheel drive is preferred but not essential. All shooting locations will be assigned the day before and are subject to change due to weather conditions.

Weekly Schedule
We will meet on Sunday April 8th at Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley. All of our rooms will be located in the same section of the same building. At 8:00pm Sunday evening we will have an orientation where we will discuss the locations we will be shooting during the week and also get our assignment for the next morning. All students are required to be at this meeting. Locations will include The Devils Golf Course, Badwater, Zebriskie Point, the Racetrack, Stovepipe Sand Dunes, Titus Canyon, Dante's Overlook and the Twenty Mule Team Trail. More locations will be added and some replaced depending on weather and accessibility. Saturday morning on the 14th will find us shooting Mesquite flats in the morning and then packing up to leave.
